I who have noting



ترانه  I who have noting سال 1963 در انگلستان با صدای Ben E King منتشر شد. این آهنگ بر اساس یک آواز قدیمی ایتالیایی به نام Uno dei tanti  نوشته شده. شعر ترانه انگلیسی توسط جری لیبر و مایک استولر نوشته شد. از اجرای آقای بن ای کینگ چندین کاور توسط خوانندگان مختلف در سالهای بعد صورت گرفت که اکثرا جزو صد آهنگ برتر سال شدند ولی معروف ترین نسخه این ترانه در آمریکا توسط تام جونز اجرا شد که در سال 1970 رتبه 14 بیلبورد و 11 کش باکس رو به خودش اختصاص داد. در فصل دهم امریکن آیدل خانم هیلی رینهارت اجرای بسیار موفقی از این ترانه رو ارایه کرد که فوق العاده مورد توجه قرار گرفت.تعداد کاور های این آهنگ فوق العاده زیاده که ما فقط به اجرای  بن ای کینگ، تام جونز و هیلی رینهارت بسنده میکنیم. در ضمن  این ترانه یکی از مشهورترین ترانه های سبک سول است.

The Man Who Sold The World



ترانه The Man Who Sold The World در سال 1970 در آمریکا و سال بعد در انگلستان  در آلبومی به همین نام از دیوید بویی انتشار یافت . متن ترانه برداشت زیبائی از شعر آنتیگونیش 1899 نوشته William Hughes Mearns بوده . شعری که به نام "The Little Man Who Wasn't There" شناخته میشه و آوازی هم بر اساس اون ساخته شده  که اجراهای بسیار مختلفی داره . متن شعر آنتیگونیش :

Yesterday, upon the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today,
I wish, I wish he'd go away...

When I came home last night at three,
The man was waiting there for me
But when I looked around the hall,
I couldn't see him there at all!

اما برداشت دیوید بویی چیز متفاوتی از این شعر بود و روایت متفاوتی رو ارائه کرد که طی چندین سال مختلف در انگلستان و آمریکا در رده های بالای جدول قرار داشت و سالها بعد هم توسط کرت کوبین خواننده فقید گروه نیروانا کاور شد . اینجا دو اجرای دیوید بوئی و کاور گروه نیروانا رو بهتون معرفی میکنیم .
